Central Illinois Ditch Riders 1st Meeting of 2009-2010 Season 10-21-09 @ 7:30 Blue Moon Dining Company, Dawson, IL President Drew Bartolozzi welcomed everybody to the Blue Moon, the pledge of allegiance was said and club officers were introduced. A member Pat Hester that recently passed away was remembered. All members introduced themselves and the brand of snowmobile they rode. Lisa Wall read the secretary minutes from the final meeting of the 2008-2009 seasons. Deb Bartolozzi made a motion to except and Gene Hickey made the 2nd motion. The motion carried. Marie Wheeler read the treasurer's report. Lisa Wall made the 1st motion & Doug Logsdon made the 2nd motion to accept the minutes. All were in favor. Nominations for officers were discussed. Bob Steele declined his nomination for presidency due to personal obligations with a letter that Drew read to the members. Hanni Saderberg's nomination for secretary was cancelled due to her recent move out of state. Ellen Schlieckau declined her nomination as treasurer. Brittany Crim nominated Ron Crim for president, but he declined. All of last year's officers agreed to keep their post for the new season. With a show of hands the new officers were unanimously accepted. 2009-2010 club officers are as follows Drew Bartolozzi as president, Doug Logsdon as vice-president, Marie Wheeler as treasurer, and Lisa Wall as secretary. Members with new sleds are Jason Burris with a '92 Ski-doo, and Bob Rudolph with and '08 Ski-doo Summit. The Stihl leaf blower raffle ticket sales were wrapped up and the winners name pulled from a hat was Kenny Metcalf. A Charity event was discussed. The Calhoun family volunteered to deliver non-perishable food items to their community church. The church has a Northeast Community Fund that helps those in need. A motion was made by Lisa Wall for members to bring food items to the November and December meetings to be collected by the Calhoun's and distributed before Christmas. Marie Wheeler made a second motion. All were in favor. Drew will make sure information on the charity gets in the monthly newsletters. The Snowmobile convention ad was placed in the convention program, thanks to Ron for designing it and Dave for submitting it. Dave is doing a good job getting our club in various news media such as the Illinois Times and television. The summer picnic had a good turn-out despite the rainy forecast. There were 42 members present and 14 of them camped. The March lodge trip for this year still has the same cost for the lodge rental as when we first started it years ago. The deposits and dates will be discussed in more detail at the November meeting. The February saddle bag trip will remain at the same time and locations as it has in the past and anyone wanting to go should contact Drew to help him plan the reservations. Marie and Cliff Wheeler discussed their recent train trip in Canada; they are planning a snowmobile trip their soon and will discuss the information they gathered with anyone interested. In health and welfare news, member Pat Hester passed away recently and member Robin Wall's father passed away. Drew Bartolozzi's parents, Dominic and Marian, donated $20.00 to the club because they enjoy being with our club at many functions throughout the year. Lisa Wall made a motion to use their donation as a membership for them and it was seconded by Carla Metcalf. The motion carried. Membership dues are $20.00 and due by the December meeting. The IASA raffle tickets were handed out to present members for them to purchase or sell. The winners will be drawn at the annual IASA convention. The member camping trip in June at Clinton Lake was a good time. The Wheelers' got a new camper and the Fergusons' got a new motor home. The next meeting date for the club is November 18th. During the meeting, member Dennis Schlieckau from Saginaw reported it was currently snowing in Duluth and northern Wisconsin had a couple of inches of snow on the ground. The 50/50 raffle was held; the winner was Dave Stout. Dave Stout also won the can cooler raffle. Dave bought members a round of drinks with his winnings.
